AVOIDING PLAGIARISM CALCULATING GRADE POINT AVERAGE


1.      What is palagarism??
….  The act of taking ideas, writing or invention of others and claiming to be proud of it is the result of his work.

2.      Plagiarism examples: -
v  Imitate the assingment of others.
v  Imitating the article.

3.      UiTM has a plagarisma policy and guidelines to track this plagiarism through the Turniti app.

4.      It is a software for lecturers to check if there is a plagiarism among students.

5.      How to  prevent  plagiarism :-
       Paraphrasing :- express the money of the writer or speaker or something written or spoken using       different word.
             Refrencing :- provide   a book article with ctitations of authorities

          3 step paragraphing :-

     …. Rearrange
       …. Recheck

Calculating grade point average..

1.      What is GPA and CGPA ???
….. refers to calculated average of the letter grades  a students earn in each sem followinga D – 4.0  scale.

2.      Cumulative grade point average..
….. overall of GPA , includes dividing the number of quality points  earned attempted the total credits  hours in all attempted courses.

3.      ICGPA

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR GPA :-
GPA =
The total credit values registered and attempted in the assessment of a semester
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The total credit units acquired in the same semester

CGPA =
 The total credit values registered and attempted in the assessment of all semesters
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The total credit units acquired in all semesters


v  For students who get a bad pointer will also be subjected to some questions so students will be more concerned with their pointers' scores in order not to continue falling.

a CGPA of less than 1.80
D2
a CGPA of less than 1.80 with P1 status
D3
a CGPA of less than 2.00 with P2 status
D4
Failed in a certain course for the third time
D5
a CGPA of less than 2.00 at the end of the maximum period of study and still have courses which have not been completed
D6
Passed all courses required by a programme and fulfilled all the requirements of the programme but acquired a CGPA of less than 2.00
D7
Did not sit for the examination of all the registered courses for that semester without the approval of the University

Grade students who are learning problems :-

v  D1 - HPNG less than 1.80

v  D2 - HPNG less than 1.80 after P1

v  D3 - HPNG less than 2.00 after P2

v  D4 - failed in a course for the 3rd time

v  D5 - HPNG is less than 2. 00 at the end of the period but there is still a course not completed   yet

v  D6 - all passed but HPNG less than 2.00

v  D7 - Do not present yourself in the letterless exam



What needs to be done by students involved with points of concern: -

v  D1 - student action
v  Allocate more time to study
v  Consult a lecturer, colleagues, academic advisor.

v  D2 - prioritize weak subject
v  Improve training
v  Reduce the number of subjects taken

v  D3 - meet with course lecturer
v  Emphasis on weak subjects
v  Adding exercises
v  Refer to the course advisor.

v  D4 - refer to the current status of the head of the program advisor
v  Focus more on the weak subject of the course.

v  D5 - consult the academic publisher
v  Spend all the courses available

v  D6 - spend all the courses

v  D7 - meet the program's advisory chief and talk about the problems encountered
v  Meet the program lecturer and discuss about the problem

v  Discuss with friends
